Sabrina Fillers-Hurd had the privilege of being one of nine young adults invited to a private roundtable discussion with Miriam Delphin-Rittmon, Ph.D., Assistant Secretary for Mental Health and Substance Use at SAMHSA. During this meaningful conversation, Sabrina shared her lived experience as a transitional-age youth, discussed successful initiatives supporting young adults, and highlighted the barriers this population faces—particularly transportation challenges in rural areas. She emphasized the critical point that "it doesn't matter how great a service is if it can't be accessed," stressing the importance of addressing these barriers in federal programs.

Sabrina also contributed insights into how federal systems can better support prevention and intervention services for children and youth, working toward a more inclusive and accessible mental health landscape for transition-age youth.
